| Fulton
County Weekend - Updated October
3, 2008 |
| Last weekend I raced at Fulton Co.
MX in Rochester. The morning race there were only 2 mini quad
riders, me and Kade Wagner. First moto the gate dropped and
I took off but Kade stalled it when he went to take off. It
left me with a big lead and a first moto win. 2nd moto I took
the holeshot and Kade did a great job keeping right on my tail.
Half way through the race he had some mechanical problems which
left me taking the overall win. During the night race I took
the holeshot first moto with Abby Boyer in 2nd. She and Kade
had a great race going for 2nd. Kade stayed close and didnt
let Abby out of his site. I took 1st with Abby taking 2nd and
Kade a close 3rd. 2nd moto Abby got me in the wholeshot. That
lead to an awesome race for 1st. I was in a very close 2nd and
Kade was in a very close 3rd. We stuck to each other like glue.
There were even times when all 3 of us were bumping tires at
the same time in the corners. This moto pushed all 3 of us to
ride our hardest. As much as I tried, I just couldn't get around
Abby. At the end of the 2nd moto Abby got 1st, I took 2nd and
Kade took 3rd. That was an awesome race! Great job Abby and
Kade! This weekend I will be at Trojan Raceway. It's my favorite
track...too bad it is their last race of the season! |

| State
Championship Wrap-Up - Updated
September 22, 2008 |
| This past Sunday was
the last race of the State Series at Leisuretime GP in Medaryville.
We drove up a day early and set up camp. Saturday evening was
a lot of fun. I brought a bunch of balls and had a dodge ball
fight with a lot of my track friends. It was so much fun! Later
we had a campfire and listened to the live band that was provided
for entertainment by the track owners. The next morning the
pits really started filling up. The weather was perfect! I was
quite nervous. This race determined who was going to be the
state champion. It was a very close series in my class. As the
gates dropped in the first moto I took the holeshot. It wasn't
an easy moto as I had riders on my backside at every corner.
I rode hard and won the first moto. Between motos I enjoyed
another dodgeball fight with a bunch of friends in the pit area. |

| |
| It was a blast! Hanging
with my friends at the track is just as fun as racing! My buddy
Blake even came and supported his mini quad friends. It was
nice to see him. I had not seen him since his accident 2 weeks
ago. |
| Second moto I took the
holeshot again. This moto was the same as the first, riders
right on my tail the entire race! As the white flag came out
I started having a hard time breathing. I began to hyperventilate
and struggled to finish my last lap. I could feel riders on
my tail so I tried really hard to keep the lead. Just a few
turns before the checkered my lil buddy Kade Wagner passed me.
Great job Kade - you were rockin! I took a first overall in
this race and Kade took 2nd. My overall results allowed me wrap
up the State Championship Series! It was a tough run but I did
it! |
| Special congratulations
to my little brother Adam. He rode hard and finished the State
Championship Series in 3rd place!! Great job Adam! |
| Next weekend I will
be racing at Fulton County. I haven't been there since they
made their track changes, so I look forward to riding the new
track design! Hope to see you there! |

| Wabash State Race
- Updated September 8, 2008 |
|
| This weekend was the 2nd of 3 State
Races. This one was at the Wabash Cannonball in Wabash, Indiana.
We drove up Saturday afternoon so that we did not have to get
up extra early on Sunday. On our way up to the track we were
informed of some sad news. My best buddy and competitor, Blake
Sarver, had crashed during practice earlier that day and had
broken his arm. I was so sad when I found out. Not having Blake
at the track is like not having my quad there! He is one of
my best friends and we do everything together. He will be out
for the rest of the season and I don't know what I will do without
him there. His dad did promise to bring him up to watch a few
of the races...so I at least have that to look forward to...but
racing just won't be the same without him. I will miss him not
being at the track every weekend. |
 |
| That evening me and my family swam
at the hotel and ordered in pizza. Sunday morning we headed
to the track. Being a state race, it was packed. The track was
awesome, but it developed bad ruts everywhere! Anyone who races
a quad knows that bad ruts means a rough ride! |
| As I, and a bunch of
my mini quad competitors, lined up for the first moto...we were
saddened that Blake wasn't there so we did a special "boom
shucka, lucka" dance in honor of Blake. Anyone who knows
Blake and I know that we like to do that dance while waiting
to take off at the holeshot during most of our races. It's just
a way for us to have fun and relieve some of the stress before
the race. Blake...we did that dance...just for you!! Get well
soon buddy! |
| Despite the tough competition
and rough track conditions, I took 1st both motos of the 2nd
state race. I won this race for Blake...that one was for you
buddy! There is one state race left to go...anything can happen! |

| Womens Championship
- Updated September 1, 2008 |
| This weekend I headed up to Hangtime
to race the Women's Championship. During the first moto I took
the holeshot and kept the lead with Lindsey Sandel and Abby
Boyer on my tail. Just before the white flag my chain fell off.
I was passed by 4 riders before we got my chain back on. I managed
to pass a few riders in the last lap and was right on Abby's
tail, but didn't have enough time left to try and pass. It left
me finishing in 3rd place behind Lindsey, who took 1st and Abby,
who took 2nd. |
| Second moto I grabbed the wholeshot
and as I was coming down the hill out of nowhere came my friend
Abby. From that moment on we had an awesome race going with
Abby in first, me in second and Lindsey Sandel in 3rd. Around
every corner and at every jump we stuck together like glue.
It was an awesome race! We weren't about to let each other out
of our sights. Abby held her position for 1st in the 2nd moto
with me in 2nd and Lindsey in 3rd. |
| Abby ran hard and won the Women's
Championship in the mini quad class! Congratulations Abby! She
ran hard and stayed consistant and it paid off! She deserved
it!! GREAT JOB! |
| Next weekend I will be racing the
State Race at Wabash Cannonball. Hopefully the issue with my
chain will be corrected by then. It's been a big issue in the
last few races but we think we might have found the problem...
I guess we will just have to wait and see! |

| State Race Weekend
- Updated August 27, 2008 |
| This weekend races were at D&D
motorsports in Rochester, IN. Because it was the weekend of
the first state race, we drove up Friday evening to get our
campsite situated. My best friend Alyssa came with me. After
setting up camp we lit up a campfire and had fun just hanging
out with some friends. My buddy Alix came over and gave us a
pyrotech show being silly and igniting things in the fire. |
| Saturday morning it was time to
race. I didn't do as well as i had hoped. I took a 3rd overall
behind my buddy Blake. Saturday was extremely hot. We struggled
with the heat all day. When the races were over my family, along
with Blake and his dad, headed into town to grab a bite to eat
and sit in the air conditioning. When we got to the restaurant
we were the only customers. Me and Alyssa were feeling silly
and started dancing to the 60's music they had playing over
the speakers. Not having an audience, Alyssa went up and danced
for the person at the front counter. Then one of the workers
came back by us and started dancing with us!! It was pretty
funny! We had soo much fun! |
| Later that evening Blake's Dad invited
us, along with Mattie and Jazzy, over to their family lakehouse
in Rochester to go swimming. None of us had packed our bathing
suits, so we just swam in our clothes! It was soooo much fun!
After leaving there we headed back to the racetrack and lit
up a campfire. Then we went over and watched a movie that the
trackowners had set up by the consession stand. |
| Sunday morning was the first of
the 3 state races. This first race was a hard one. I had some
bad luck in the 2nd moto when my chain popped of way back in
the woods. By the time I had gotten it back on I was passed
by almost all the riders. Because of my bad 2nd moto...I ended
up with a 4th overall. |
| Between first and second moto Me,
Alyssa, Ryan, Brantley, Blake, Jacob, Jagg and Adam had a big
water fight. It was soooo much fun! We kept dumping water all
over each other. We were all soaked!! It was awesome!!! I love
being at the track and I love all my friends there! |

| School Starting -
Updated August 18, 2008 |
| I want to take a minute to again
apologize for not keeping you updated on my race weekends. School
is quickly approaching so I've been busy shopping and preparing! |
| The Weekend of August 9th I headed
over to D&D Motorsports to race the last weekend of the
"Beat The Sundown Series" I took 1st place all 3 races
that weekend and wrapped up the series taking 1st. |
| This past weekend I headed over
to Trojan Raceway for a weekend of racing. Saturday morning
during the first Moto I broke an a-arm bolt and was unable to
finish the race. I thought I was out for the weekend then Mr.
Hollinger (Rob) offered to take a part off of his son
Mason's quad
so that I could race the Saturday evening race. Thank you Mr.
Hollinger for being so generous! I was pumped for the night
race but nervous because I had some fast competition to face. |
| First moto I managed to take the
lead at the 2nd corner and worked hard to keep that lead. I
felt comfortable and smooth on the track. I pushed hard and
kept my first position during the entire race. I took 1st in
the first moto.As I lined up at the gate for the 2nd moto I
was nervous and was hoping to have the same run as the first
moto. As the gate dropped I took 2nd in the holeshot behind
Jacob Klingaman. He has a superfast quad so I knew that if I
wanted to pass him I would have to push extra hard. During the
first lap as we were coming down from the uphill section of
the track I was able to pass Jacob. I could feel him still on
my tail so I just pressed on as fast as I could. As the moto
went on I developed a comfortable lead and took 1st...giving
me 1st overall. It was an awesome race...one of my best races
this season! |
| Thanks again to the Hollinger
Family for giving me the part off one of their machines
so that I could race the night race. They are a truly awesome
family and I'm glad they are back at the track racing again!I'd
like to take a minute to tell my lil brother Adam that I'm proud
of him. He had a really bad crash during his 2nd moto of the
night race...but he still got back up and finished the race.
He's a tough cookie and I'm glad he is OK! Great
job Adam! |
| Next weekend I'll be at D&D
for the 1st race of the state race series! |
|

| Haley's Updates -
Updated August 5, 2008 |
| Hi everyone...I'm sorry for not
keeping my page updated so I will do my best to get you caught
up on the last few weeks. |
| The weekend of July 18th I raced
at Trojan Raceway in North Webster, Indiana. I took 1st on Friday,
2nd in both the races on Saturday and 1st on Sunday. The following
weekend we choose to take the weekend off and me and my family
headed out to Cedar Point for a nice summer break. That was
the first time I had been there and i had sooo much fun riding
all the roller coasters! |
| Last weekend I raced at Hangtime
MX in Akron, Indiana. It wasn't a real good day for me. During
the first moto of the morning race I was running in 2nd place
when I popped my chain....twice! Between motos my parents put
a new chain on my quad. It helped out a lot. 2nd moto I took
a 2nd place behind my friend Blake. Despite the misfortunes
first moto I still ended up with a 3rd overall. |
| During the first moto of the night
race I took 2nd place. When the 2nd moto started I took 3rd
in the holeshot. I worked hard to catch Jacob in the 2nd position
but during the moto I blew my gears. I didn't get to finish
the race. I ended up with 5th overall. |
| It was a tough weekend for me but
my parents are working hard to get my quad up and running for
D&D next weekend. Hope to see you all there! |

| Beat the Sundown -
Updated July 14, 2008 |
| This past Saturday I headed out
to D&D to run the Beat The Sundown Series. We ran into a
little rain on the way there, but by the time practice had started
the track was completely covered in wet, milky mud. As I took
off for practice I found it hard to make it up any of the hills
because of the mud. My quad was sucking in a lot of water, so
it started popping and losing power. I pulled off the track.
My mom felt it was in the best interest of me and my quad to
not run the race. The only other mini quad there that morning
was my good friend Blake. His dad choose not to run him either.
|
| |
| I spent that morning just hanging
out. At lunchtime me, Blake and our families headed into town
to grab a bite...then it was back to the track. By then the
sun had come out and the track was starting to dry out nicely.
During the first moto I took the holeshot and a 1st overall.
As the gate dropped in the 2nd moto I got distracted and my
friend Blake got a good 1 second jump over me. It was just enough
for him to grab a great holeshot. By the time the 2nd lap was
almost up I was on his tail and eager to pass where ever I could.
Before I got a chance to test my passing ability, Blake lost
a bolt on one of his a-arms which left me taking 1st in the
2nd moto and a 1st overall. Blake, I'm sooo sorry your quad
broke down. I was having fun chasing you! |
| Anyone at the track who knows me,
knows Blake. He is one of my best friends at the track. He is
also my biggest competitor. Sure, we are competitive on the
track, but get us off the track and we are great buddies! He
is a great competitor and a great friend! It's friends like
him that help make racing soo much fun. I have so many other
great friends at the track too. If it had not been for me racing,
I would have never had met so many wonderful people! |
| Next weekend I plan on camping out
and racing all the Trojan races. I'm very excited about it because
Trojan is my favorite track! The following weekend I will be
testing my riding skills at a new level. I will be racing my
first national race at Redbud in Buchanan, MI. I'm both nervous
and excited about it! A lot of my local rider friends will be
there, so that will make things a lot easier! I can't wait! |

| Sweet 16 Wild Weekend
- Updated June 30, 2008 |
| This past weekend was crazy but
fun. I headed up for the Friday night race at Sweet 16 with
my friend Liz. It had rained really hard right before we got
there. The track conditions were bad so they cancelled the race.
So we just set up camp and had fun hanging out with some friends.
Saturday morning the track was still muddy from an overnight
shower...but races went on as planned. During my first moto
it was pouring down rain. The whole track was a slick, muddy
mess. I took the holeshot and held my position until about half
way through the race...as I approached a corner I spun out and
my buddy Blake got by me. I finished the race in 2nd place.
There was no second moto because of the track conditions, so
I ended up with a 2nd overall. |
| The Saturday night race produced
better track conditions but the power of my quad could not compete
with my buddy Blake who took the holeshot in both motos and
took 1st overall. I took 2nd. Awesome racing Blake...you rocked
out there! |
| I won't be racing next weekend.
I'm taking the weekend off. I will be heading over to Redbud
next Sunday to watch the Pros! I'm really excited about that!
I'll be back at D&D the following weekend...Have a Happy
and safe 4th of July! |

| Trojan Raceway Quad
Clash - Updated June 27, 2008 |
| This past weekend I raced at Trojan
Raceway in North Webster, Indiana. The Friday night race there
were only 3 mini quad riders at the track. I took first both
motos which gave me an overall first. Saturday morning there
was a better mini quad turnout. There were 7 quads on the gate.
Again, I took 1st both motos for another overall first. |
| Between the morning and afternoon
race it poured down rain. The excessive amount caused the track
to be like a giant mudpit. The quad clash was that evening,
but because of all the rain there wasn't as good of a turnout
as expected. The Klinger family worked hard to get the track
back in shape...and they did a great job! I took 1st both motos
for an overall quad clash win. |
| Special thanks to my buddies Blake
and Grant for giving me such an awesome run this weekend...you
keep me on my toes and make racing soo much fun! My next race
is at Sweet 16...and im looking forward to it! |

| Trojan Raceway Weekend
Results - Updated June 9, 2008 |
| Wow...this weekend at Trojan Raceway
was full of excitement, disappointment but also a whole lot
of fun! Saturday morning my buddy Grant and I were neck and
neck in the 1st moto holeshot. Just before the corner he pulled
ahead of me but I cornered tight and got past him. I held my
position for a 1st place. |
| Second moto was filled with disappointment
and chaos for quite a few riders. As we took off in the holeshot
Grant pulled the lead. I was following close behind him and
after the first lap I hit this nasty sand rut and popped a chain.
By the time my mom had gotten my chain back on Grant had pulled
a huge lead and I was passed by Brogan and Blake. I worked really
hard trying to reel them all back in when Brogan broke down
leaving me back in the 3rd position. I then tried working on
catching up with Blake. As the last lap approached Grant landed
hard on a jump and lost the master link on his chain. He was
out of the race. That left Blake taking 1st and me with a 2nd.
That was a bad moto for quite a few of us mini quads. There
was a lot of problems for all of us! |
| |
| Because I had taken 1st in the
first moto, and Blake had taken 3rd or 4th it still left me
with a 1st overall. |
| During the 1st moto of the second
race, Grant and I were, again, neck and neck in the holeshot.
As we approached the corner, Grant pulled the lead. I wasn't
about to let him get away. We had the most awesome race going.
I was on his butt like glue. Every corner, I was there. We were
even jumping over jumps at the same time and bumping tires in
the air! The crowd was going crazy... it was awesome! As we
approached a corner I managed to grab the inside line and get
passed Grant. Grant overshot the berm and put his quad in a
big mud hole. I came up to the finish line and saw the flag
wave so I pulled off and waited to congratulate my competitors.
As I sat there waiting, and waiting, a friend of mine notified
me that there was still one lap to go! By the time I got back
on the track I had been passed by 2 riders!!! I couldn't believe
I made that stupid mistake. I was flying...trying to catch up
to those 2 riders. As I was approaching Blake he had some problems
getting out of a corner and I got by him. I worked hard that
lap and caught up to Grant...I was right on his tail but was
unable to pass him before the checkered flag. He had taken 1st
and I was 2nd. |
| |
| As the gate dropped for the second
moto I, once again, was neck and neck with Grant in the holeshot.
I managed to get ahead of him and was in the 1st position. I
rode as hard as I could and maintained a good lead in front
of Grant. I took 1st that moto and a 1st overall. |
| Wow...and who said motocross wasn't
exciting? Between all the excitement of the races and being
able to hang out with my awesome friends...I had a great day!
I'll be taking next weekend off but will be back at Trojan Raceway
on June 20th. |

| D&D Motorsports
- Beat the Sundown Series -
Updated June 3, 2008 |
| This weekend I headed out to D&D
Motorsports for the first weekend of the "Beat
The Sundown" series. Saturday morning the track
was a mess. It had poured down rain the night before leaving
the track with thick, wet sand. Everyone struggled to get through
the deep, wet sand. My machine struggled to get up the hills
leaving it not only a battle of the quads but a battle with
the sand too. Despite the conditions, I took first place in
both of the Saturday races. |
| Sunday morning the track had dried
out beautifully and I was ready to roll! During practice I hit
a jump. When I landed I heard a crack and then I lost control
of my quad. I had broken a bolt that holds my a-arm to my tire.
I was so bummed. Even though it was only a $5 part, we didn't
have an extra. I didn't get to race. |
| My parents are working hard to get
my quad fixed. I'm hoping to have it done in time to race Trojan
Raceway...it,s my favorite track! Wish us luck! |

| Trojan Raceway - Buff
Daddy | BadAzz Babe Weekend -
Updated June 3, 2008 |
| Memorial Day weekend I headed over
to Trojan Raceway to run the Buff Daddy Series. I was so pumped
to race this series. I ran it last year and had so much fun.
My family camped next to our friends The
Johnstons and The
Sandels. We had so much fun camping with them last year
that we decided to do it again! We had a great mini quad turnout
all weekend. The first 4 races of the series I took an overall
first. It wasn't easy though because I had some really good
competition. As I was getting ready for the 5th race on Sunday
I jumped on my quad to go down for practice and it wouldn't
start! Come to find out the stator had gone out and took out
the cdi box and the coil. I had worked hard to lead in the series
so obviously I was upset. Well thanks to the Klinger
Family I had a quad to ride. They allowed me to race
their son's quad! It was weird at first because it just had
a totally different feel to it. Mine had a handbrake and his
had a footbrake. It was altogether different. Well, despite
the differences, I managed a 3rd place for Sunday night. |
| |
| Monday morning was the last race
of the series. It was a grand prix which is a mixture of motocross
and harescrambles. The track owners decided not to run the mini
quads in the woods portion of the track so it left us running
20 minutes of technical riding. It was hot out that day so I
knew it would be tiring. I still had a loner quad . I took the
holeshot and tried my best to keep it. As I continued through
the race I became weak and overheated. As I was coming down
from the uphill I came up on the whoops and tried to tap the
footbrake...but i missed it and hit the whoops at a fast speed.
The force of the quad bucked me really bad and I almost flipped
the quad. I hit my chest against the handlebars and knocked
the wind out of myself. |
| Between the heat exhaustion and
not being able to breathe I felt like I was going to pass out.
I knew that if I didn't get at least a 3rd place that I would
lose the whole series. By then I had fallen back to 2nd. I felt
myself getting weaker and weaker but I pressed on. The 20 minutes
seemed like an hour. I was so hot I had to make a quick stop
and give my mom my goggles so that I could get some air on my
face. The last 2 laps seemed to last forever. I was so weak
I didn't know where I was getting the strength to keep going.
At last I came across the checkered flag. I barely made it back
to my campsite. The series was over and I had won it. That race
was the most difficult race I had ever competed in. |
| I want to take a minute to congratulate
all the mini quads that raced that weekend. They all did great!
A special congratulations to my buddy Blake
Sarver for giving me such a good run. He kept me on my
toes the entire series and made me work hard to win. |
| During the Memorial Day weekend
I also participated in a "Race
2 a Cure" and a track walk to raise money for the
National Breast Cancer Foundation. I was happy to participate
because raising money for this cause hit close to home. I lost
my grandmother to breast cancer when I was 3yrs old. I remember
what a wonderful lady she was and it makes me sad when I think
about all that I miss not having her in my life. I want to take
a minute to thank all the people and families that sponsored
my walk. Without them I couldn't have raised the money I did. |

| Fulton County MX Wrap-up
- Updated May 13, 2008 |
| This weekend I raced at Fulton County
MX in Rochester, Indiana. Our plan was to stay the entire weekend,
but the rain threw a wrench in the plans. Reads Racing, the
track promoter made a tough decision and canceled the race scheduled
for Sunday. I did get a lot of track time in though. I was able
to race the Friday night event and and both races on Saturday! |
| At practice I felt pretty good.
I stayed smooth and gained more confident every lap. The track
was still in great shape at race time. My quad was hooking real
good and I began to get into a zone. I found the grooves and
got a real feel for the track. There was a okay mini quad turnout
this weekend. I pulled the holeshot during all 6 of my motos
and took home 3 first place overall finishes. |
| I'll be at Hangtime MX Park in Akron,
Indiana next weekend where I expect to have some real competition
ready to race me. Hangtime MX Park sure isn't my best track.
I've got my work cut out for me! I'll just do my best to keep
on keepin' on. You know that's right. Hope to see you all there! |

| Racing News -
Updated May 4, 2008 |
| This weekend I raced
the 2 Saturday races at Sweet
16 MX in Fort Wayne. It's the first time in 2 years that
I have been to this track. The rain managed to hold off and
the morning races went off without a hitch. |
There were 5 mini quads during
the morning race. During the first moto I took the holeshot
and was passed in the first lap by Blake
Sarver. I worked hard to try to catch him but was unsuccessful.
When the second moto approached, I was feeling more comfortable
with the track. As the gate dropped, I throttled hard and took
the holeshot, but Blake was right on my tail. I pushed hard
and stayed focused and took the checkered flag for an the overall
win.
Great race Blake! |
|
|
|
Between motos I went to Pizza Hut with my friends
Lindsey
and Blake. We had so much fun! We giggled,
laughed and had a cheese fight! As we were leaving
Pizza Hut we spotted a "Big
Boy" restaurant across the street...you
are probably wondering...whats the big deal about
a "Big Boy" restaurant!? Well, it wasn't
the restaurant we were excited about, it was the
Giant Big Boy Statue standing in front of it. Me
and Lindsey jumped out of the truck and had our
pictures taken with him. Ya, we probably looked
pretty silly standing on busy road taking pictures
with "Big Boy" but we didn't care...it
was fun! As we jumped back into the truck we had
the overwhelming urge to act like goofballs (it
must have been all that mt. dew we drank during
lunch...lol) We started screaming, shouting and
saying "Hi" out the window to anyone and
everyone. |
|
|
| |
| Ya, people probably though we were
total goofballs, but we didn't care... it was all in good fun! |
| When we got back to the track for
the night race, the wind blowing hard...real hard!! It started
to get cool and the sky looked like it was going to produce
rain. There was a great mini quad turnout that night...11 of
us! As the gate dropped in the first moto, I took the holeshot.
Again, my biggest competitor, Blake was on my tail. He pushed
me hard. It seemed as if I couldn't gain any ground on him.
I depended on my experience and instinct to get me through to
a 1st moto win at the checkered flag. |
| As the sky got darker, we took off
the gate to start our second moto. I had a terrific start and
pushed my hardest. Blake got a bad jump off the gate and by
the time he had passed the other riders that had gotten in front
of him, I was too far ahead for him to catch. So I again took
a first for the overall win. |
| I had an awesome day at the races
and I look forward to many more. I still cant get over how much
all the other mini quad riders are improving. They had all kinds
of races going between themselves. Keep up the good work everyone...you
are doing awesome, awesome, awesome! |
| I want to give a special congratulations
to my lil' bro Adam.
He just switched over from a KTM to a Cobra and He rode awesome
this weekend! He continues to improve with every race! Also,
a special congratulations to my friend Lindsey. She got a new
racing quad and although she is a 14yr old girl racing a Honda
300...she rode with the big quads and kicked some of their butts!!
Woo Hoo...you go girl! |

| This weekend I raced
the Friday night race and the two Saturday races
at Fulton County MX. They had made some new track
changes and I was excited to try it out. Friday
night my biggest competitor was Blake Sarver. He
brought his new quad ... we call it "the beast"
because it is sooo fast! He rode his quad hard and
took 1st Friday night handing me 2nd. Saturday morning
Blake won the first moto, but I managed to get the
holeshot in the second moto and held him off for
the overall win. Saturday night I again took the
holeshot with Blake on my tail. We both rode hard
and gave the crowd a great show. I was able to hold
Blake off and take 1st in that moto. During the
2nd moto Blake pulled the holeshot but I passed
him early on the track. Some malfunction caused
him to slow down for a bit. -

| There were a few quads
between us but within a lap Blake was hot on my
tail again. He passed me in the front whoops. He
rode hard and took 1st overall. I took 2nd that
race. Blake...you raced awesome this weekend. I
had a lot of fun racing with you. |
| It
was a great turn for the mini-quads this weekend.
I can't tell how everyone else was riding, I was
kinda busy myself. I did hear from some of my 2
wheeled racing friends that alot of the other mini-quads
are gettin' faster, No need to tell me that, I can
feel them breathing down my neck. The whole pack
is starting to keep a closer eye on the leaders.
It's beginning to shape up to be a great season.
I get the feeling I'll be in some tough battles
before the season ends. Great,... I love the competition.
It's a great feeling to win. But I think I'm having
more fun racing bar to bar than I am winning right
now. Having close races is what keeps it exciting
for me. I am not going to slow down for anyone.
It isn't fair to the competition and isn't fair
to the fans, and isn't fair to me. If you want to
beat me, just work harder and when you do beat me,
you can rest assured I gave it my best and you beat
me fair and square. But don't think I won't be back
lookin' for revenge, hahaha! It just works that
way in racing. |
| I'll
be at Sweet 16 next weekend if it doesnt rain. Hope
to see you all there! |

I'm so excited that racing
season is back into full swing, but with the unpredictable
weather, I haven't been racing as much as I have wanted
to. I raced all day on Saturday, March 29th at Hangtime
MX Park. That track isn't my best, so I had to work extra
hard to keep up with the competition. It all paid off
because I got
1st place both races!
My next race was on April
5th & 6th during the LLQ
Qualifiers at Hangtime MX Park again. The place
was just booming. There were over 500 race entries on
both Saturday and Sunday. The overwhelming number of classes
caused the track to be extremely rutty. My racing pal
Grant hit a deep rut coming up the 110 tabletop and came
into the air sideways. He flipped his quad and ended up
chipping a bone in his leg. It put him out of racing for
a minimum of 6 weeks. Despite the nasty rutting of the
track, I rode
hard and took 1st both days. |

I finally got to race again
this weekend. The races were at Trojan Raceway. I went
up Friday and stayed through Saturday evening. I was a
little nervous racing this track because in the past,
it wasn't one of my best tracks to race. There were a
few doubles and jumps that I have always been afraid to
try, so it caused me to be a bit slower in my lap times.
My parents told me that in order to succeed on this track
I would have to step it up a bit.
During practice Friday night, I decided it was time to
start working on my weak spots. So, by the time practice
was over I had accomplished them all. It felt so good!
Friday night I raced hard and was in first place until
my lil' buddy Kade
Wagner passed me up for the win. I took a close
2nd! Great job
Kade! When the Saturday morning practice started,
all the once "difficult" obstacles seemed to
be so smooth and easy to do. With this goal accomplished,
it left me running faster lap times. I
took 1st in both the morning and evening races.
The once, difficult track was now one of my best tracks!
I look forward to going to Fulton County MX next weekend.
It's always been one of my favorite tracks! |

Updated March 18, 2008 |
| Last weekend was the first
set of races of the 2008 season. It was held at D&D
Motorsports in Rochester. I was so happy to be back at
the track despite the cold temperatures. The holeshot
and the woods portion of the track were closed down because
of standing water, so they ran us up at the top of the
track. The pit area was muddy! People were getting stuck
all over and were having to be towed out. Nobody seemed
to mind though. I think they were all just as happy as
me to be there. It was so nice to see my racing friends
again. The Saturday race only produced 2 mini quads. The
track was wet, sandy and rutty. My quad pushed through
it well giving me a 1st place. The Sunday race brought
more riders in the Mini Quad class. There were 5. The
track conditions were the same as the day before, but
I felt comfortable on it. I took 1st place in this race
too. I am so glad that racing season is back. I will be
at Trojan Raceway next weekend if the conditions are good.
Let's hope for great weather. |

Awards Banquet - Updated
February 19, 2008 |
| I cleaned up at the Reads
Racing Awards Banquet this year. I received multiple
trophies and was honored as "Most Determined Rider"!
My brother Adam was startled to find he was awarded "Most
Improved". We felt like we were working we had so
many trips to the stage. It was exciting and exhausting
at the same time. Racing is hard work and it has it's
rewards, some of which cannot be redeemed with fancy plaques,
chrome, silver, and gold. It's a Feeling that comes from
meeting and having so many wonderful friends and fans
I have been blessed with. They don't make a trophy that
can represent how great that feels. |
| Adam likes the friends too, but he really likes the
trophies! Typical Boy! Hahahaha! |

at the 2007 District
15 Awards Banquet held February 9, 2008 at Celebrations
Hall in Indianapolis, Indiana. |
| I saw a few of my good friends there and some other
adult riders that I recognized from many of the tracks
I race. I am very proud to hold the #1 plate this year
and will work twice as hard this season to repeat and
win another District 15 Championship and a Reads
Racing Championship. |
